Go tumblr Activists! Well done for being idiots!!

So… I bet you’re feeling pretty pleased with yourselves… you saw past the lie of the Invisible Childrens KONY 2012 video and are now warning people to not support them…..

Just remember to delete your old posts.

It’s fucking embarrassing when people realised you jumped the bandwagon after throwing your undying support to such an idiotic cause, telling your friends, family and people on the street “SUPPORT THE KONY PROJECT”.

This is why I hate you.

Yes.

You.

Instead of doing research and actually looking into Kony, heck, looking into Africa in general (seriously, don’t go there, it ain’t all sunshine and starving children. If you do go, don’t catch the bus, your naked corpse will be thrown at the next stop)  you all banged your desk with a bone and screamed their support hailing yourself as a paragon of social change.

Now probably you’re also thinking “well it’s OK, I’ve stopped now and set things straight, I made a mistake but I see the error of my ways” no, you haven’t, the fact you even thought for a second you could change some of the shit that goes on in the African continent for the better means you’re an idiot, suurreee give your money to the charities, they’ll feed and clothe the starving children, right?

You know those starving children you see on the advertisements? They’re dead now, the Africans sure as hell didn’t feed them.

Guns and weapons sold on the street.

The children in the better off areas where they don’t have to worry about survival like to play things like games of chicken across busy roads, oh well one of you lost, well he’s dead, next game?

There is one fun game some of the militants play if they find a pregnant women, they all take bets on the gender of the baby, then they’ll slit her open and watch as the baby falls on the floor, the winner is paid and sometimes is rewarded by raping the now dying woman, her child still attached by its lifeline.

There is also a belief, that if they have sex with a virgin they are cured of their AIDS. Many children are raped each year due to this.

I know not all Africa is bad, it is as varied in itself as Europe is.

Much of Africa is a crap hole, filled with bad people. You want to change it, then do it, but you won’t change shit by sitting on your ass behind a computer.

Disclaimer: My knowledge comes from verified sources who wish to remain unnamed. No, don’t be retarded, I don’t think they’re bad because they’re black, it isn’t a racist essay I have written.

Two non-offensive alternatives to the term “spirit animal”

selchieproductions:

  • Daemon - The only one you’re appropriating is Pullman and by appropriating Pullman you’re upsetting no-one, save possibly the Pope.
  • Patronus - Wizards everywhere are more than willing to lend you this term and the geekiness is an added bonus. I just read that geeks are sexy, or so the Metro, so, there you go, a patronus is clearly your next ascribed accessory.

For a Daemon you are actually appropriating Greek Mythology, so you’re kinda offending those who still practice the Greek Religeon, yes, they do still exist in small cults.

Not to mention the complete lack of connection between one’s ‘personal spirit’ and how a Daemon’s nature is, they serve mortals as guardian spirits, not just a single person but all who offered donations to their shrines.

A patronus is plain fiction and has no place in talks of religious and spiritual beliefs

That’s a really nice Starbucks mug.

I know, right? I freaking love this mug. I think it’s my favorite mug I ever had, and drink a LOT of tea and I’ve had a lot of mugs.  I don’t want to brag, but I think this might be the best mug in the world.  It’s giant. It has a lovely nostalgic pink and chocolate color, and a pretty raised rose pattern.

This is a FINE-ASS MUG.

Best mug in the world?

Meet the youngest person on Earth to achieve nuclear fusion

Taylor Wilson built his first bomb when he was 10 years old. Four years later, he became the thirty-second person on Earth to ever build a working nuclear fusion reactor.

“I would say someone like [Taylor] comes along maybe once in a generation,” says Kristina Johnson, who, when she met Taylor, was serving as the Under Secretary of Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy. “He’s not just smart; he’s cool and articulate. I think he may be the most amazing kid I’ve ever met.”

And after reading this incredible profile on Taylor, penned by Popular Science’s Tom Clynes, we’re inclined to agree — though calling Taylor “smart” may just be the understatement of the century.

I’VE WASTED MY LIFE!!!

I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M DOING

I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M DOING

Why I HATE Idealists!

While I wait for my food to cook I thought I’d write a little something to illustrate why I hate Idealists.

Let us start by examining what an idealist is: An idealist is someone who’s very nature is to infringe on others world-view, they see some issue in the world whether it be race, gender or anything and develop a need to change it, they then try to change the entire world to fit their world-view they have developed.

Now you could see this as a plus, they’re trying to change the world for the better, but they ignore many things along the way. Take the Salvation Army thing I have posted about previously, the idealists actively tried to boycott the Salvation Army due to their stance on homosexuality, completely ignoring all the other good they do in the community, trying to bring down a quite altruistic organisation for one issue that isn’t even a major problem.

Now it’s not just the ignorance that is a problem it’s the lack of freedom they impose on the world is my problem with them, by forcing their own personal beliefs onto others they are destroying their freedom, and here is why; in a true free society people are free to do what they like as long as it doesn’t impose on others freedom, so people can be as racist as they want as long as they don’t actively discriminate against others, otherwise that’d be imposing on their freedom. See how it works? Perfectly is how it works, but the idealist doesn’t care about the fact that my perfect society would work, they just care that a person has those thoughts at all.

The movie Tangled has either a dangerously low or nonexistant number of coloured people in it, does it change the fact it’s a good movie?

No

Are we allowed to like it still now that we know there are no coloured people in it?

HOLY FUCKBALLS NO!!!

A fun scenario is the video game ‘Mirror’s Edge’ in it you play an idealist who’s goal is to take down the corrupt government, seems good right?

Well no, sure the government is corrupt. But there’s been the lowest crime rates ever and people are probably quite happy to live their lives in capitalist ignorance about the world around them. BUT NO, cause ONE FUCKING SMALL GROUP OF PEOPLE DON’T LIKE THE SYSTEM, SHIT HAS GOT TO GO!

Another fact I would like to mention is the fact that the idealists causes are mostly not righteous, 70% of the time they don’t take on a cause because it’s the right thing to do, they take it because it’s their personal preference, they want to see more of X demographic in a movie because it allows them to immerse themselves better because it’s something they like.

Film guy - “We decided not to go with an all black cast to play king Arthur and his knights, as it doesn’t really fit th-“

Idealist - “AWWW HELL NO”

I’d like to finish by commenting on the self righteousness of the idealist, by campaigning against something like racism they then think they are exempt from racism, but they’re not, these idealists think that by taking on all these issues they are somehow better than everyone else and exempt from the same social rules as everyone else, but they’re not. EVERYONE is a little bit racist, no matter what colour gender or country you are from, you have thought racist thoughts before. One thing that happens most of the time by fighting these issues they end up becoming reverse-racists and discriminating against the ones they are fighting in the first place.

This has not been a conclusive guide to the many reasons I hate idealists and it’s not to be taken as a life guide, this is all, as the idealist will not see it, an opinion. I would also like to say I am not a complete: Racist, Misogynist etc. While I certainly have those thoughts, so do everyone else.

I AM BORED NOW CHU~

I AM BORED NOW CHU~

Must we hate the Salvation Army so much!

Now, we can establish right away the Salvation Army is actively against homosexuality, right, now that’s out of the way let’s talk about people reactions to this.

Now it seems this Christmas and any since the early 2000s it has been an En-Masse reaction to refuse to give any money to the Salvation Army due to their anti-homosexual views, using this as a way to try and change them or just to hurt them in a small way.

This view is naive though, by focusing on their anti-homosexual views they’re ignoring all of the good they do for both individuals and their communities, it’s not as though they refuse to help down and out people based on their sexuality!

Now the way it should be done is money should be given, but when the SA decide to pull an anti-homosexuality stunt then rise up and call them out on it.

BUT (and this is a big but) this would require a modicum of alertness and effort on the people’s behalf, something that most idealists are not prepared to give by far, so instead of taking the route that would cause more good by adding more effort, they choose to take the road easier travelled and just not do anything and that is what it is, doing nothing. By not giving money to the SA you are not campaigning against them, you are just ignoring the issues for your own comfort.

If you truly wish to hurt them then campaign, take it to the streets and fight, war’s are not won in your god-damn computer chair, actually do something for once instead of just complaining!

One teachers approach to preventing gender bullying in a classroom

togetherforjacksoncountykids:

“It’s Okay to be Neither,” By Melissa Bollow Tempel

Alie arrived at our 1st-grade classroom wearing a sweatshirt with a hood. I asked her to take off her hood, and she refused. I thought she was just being difficult and ignored it. After breakfast we got in line for art, and I noticed that she still had not removed her hood. When we arrived at the art room, I said: “Allie, I’m not playing. It’s time for art. The rule is no hoods or hats in school.”

She looked up with tears in her eyes and I realized there was something wrong. Her classmates went into the art room and we moved to the art storage area so her classmates wouldn’t hear our conversation. I softened my tone and asked her if she’d like to tell me what was wrong.

“My ponytail,” she cried.

“Can I see?” I asked.

She nodded and pulled down her hood. Allie’s braids had come undone overnight and there hadn’t been time to redo them in the morning, so they had to be put back in a ponytail. It was high up on the back of her head like those of many girls in our class, but I could see that to Allie it just felt wrong. With Allie’s permission, I took the elastic out and re-braided her hair so it could hang down.

“How’s that?” I asked.

She smiled. “Good,” she said and skipped off to join her friends in art.

‘Why Do You Look Like a Boy?’

The problem with this is that Gender tolerance can not really be taught in the same way as Race or Appearance tolerance due to a child’s development of gender identity, up until adolescence a child subconsciously believes the gender is based upon cosmetic factors e.g. a boy with long hair can be a girl etc.

This makes teaching Gender tolerance difficult as you oppose all gender development up until that point, that’s several years being broken down in weeks, this can cause the child to start to question their gender and create undue stress to the child, even damaging their understanding of gender for their entire lifetime.

In some extreme cases the child can even develop ‘Gender Dysmorphia’(Gender Identity Disorder)which in itself can create almost a lifetime of stress and hardship depending on their environment.

The teacher in these situations should really wait until early adolescence before even attempting to curb their knowledge on gender, it may be a harder battle to do so at a later stage but it would be less harmful to the child’s psyche in the long run.
