Two non-offensive alternatives to the term “spirit animal”

  • Daemon - The only one you’re appropriating is Pullman and by appropriating Pullman you’re upsetting no-one, save possibly the Pope.
  • Patronus - Wizards everywhere are more than willing to lend you this term and the geekiness is an added bonus. I just read that geeks are sexy, or so the Metro, so, there you go, a patronus is clearly your next ascribed accessory. 

For a Daemon you are actually appropriating Greek Mythology, so you’re kinda offending those who still practice the Greek Religeon, yes, they do still exist in small cults.

Not to mention the complete lack of connection between one’s ‘personal spirit’ and how a Daemon’s nature is, they serve mortals as guardian spirits, not just a single person but all who offered donations to their shrines.

A patronus is plain fiction and has no place in talks of religious and spiritual beliefs
